Broadcomm BCM2712 SoC

The Broadcom 2712 System on Chip (SoC) marks a significant advancement in the Raspberry Pi lineup, powering the fifth iteration of this iconic single-board computer. Engineered by Broadcom specifically for the Raspberry Pi 5, this SoC integrates a potent quad-core CPU, a capable GPU, and a wealth of I/O interfaces, providing users with enhanced processing power and versatility for a wide range of projects and applications. The Raspberry Pi 5’s SoC (System on Chip), is built on a 16nm process node. This is a significant improvement over the previous Raspberry Pi 4, which used a 28nm process. The shift to 16nm allows for better power efficiency and higher performance, enabling the Raspberry Pi 5 to offer improved CPU and GPU performance while maintaining lower power consumption.
