We did a teardown of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G smartphone and obtained a lot of images during. Eventually to extract the Exynos 1480 SoC and dive deep into it.
The Samsung Exynos 1480 is a system-on-chip (SoC) designed for mid-range smartphones and tablets, featuring an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.75 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. Manufactured using Samsung’s 4nm process, it incorporates the Xclipse 530 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA architecture, delivering a 53% increase in graphics performance over its predecessor. The Exynos 1480 supports both LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 memory, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and UFS 3.1 storage. Its AI capabilities are enhanced by a 6K MAC NPU, offering four times the performance of the previous generation. Additionally, the chipset supports displays with up to 144 Hz refresh rates at Full HD+ resolution and cameras up to 200 MP, enabling Ultra HD video recording at 60 frames per second with HDR and zero-shutter lag features.
